Mahesh Deshpande, a Master of Technology from VNIT who has spent over a decade in Tokyo, Japan in the very thick of Finance and IT; working as the Head of IT Asia with Calyon, a French Investment Bank, sensed that the real opportunity for Rural India lay in diverting the advances and technology of First World Countries like Japan to India.
Having travelled the globe, gaining exposure and expertise at all the major financial hubs across the world, he understood that First World Countries represented a massive unserviced market for Indian IT & Finance talent.
The Genesis of NOZOMI.
Before it all began, Mahesh was faced with three questions,
1) Why we are doing this?
2) What we are going to do?
3) Where do we want to be?
With brainstorming and endless session with his Core Team, he came up with these answers…

Expansion of this Tried and Tested Training Program to various Rural and Backward Regions in India .
Enabling the Rural Youth to Contribute to India 's growing economy.
Empowering the Rural Youth with Skills in Foreign Languages, Finance and IT.
As the President and CEO of Nozomi, Mahesh already has created a trailblazing success story in Rural India, especially from villages like Wani, Amravati, Gondiya, Yawatmal in the Vidharba District of Maharashtra, all in a short span of only three years.
Mahesh, himself hails from a farmer family from a small town called Wani.

In fact, most of the Team in Nozomi come from Rural Family Backgrounds. They were lucky to have Education and got the chance to grow. ‘The Team' came together, under Mahesh's guidance to counter the Grass Root Issue of Employment, being faced by the Youth of Rural India. Their initiative has delivered unparalleled success in the form of Rural Youth getting employed with the best of the MNC's in India and Abroad.
Nozomi's Working Model
A) Nozomi's Integrated & Intensive Training
Nozomi follows a unique model in which students are taken through an integrated training module incorporating cutting edge IT with Japanese language and Job oriented training. The pedagogy takes the students beyond simply black-board & books, incorporating practical hands on approach. The greatest focus is on Japanese language where no effort is spared in exposing the student to real life Japanese lifestyle and culture. A specialist, eminent Japanese faculty is brought live via webcam from Japan every week to capture the finer nuances of pronunciation, intonation and body-language. All this is topped by a module on Presentations and Personality and finally all modules are integrated through real time live application project.
B) Ultra Modern Infrastructure
The most contemporary infrastructure has been set up, to train the educated human resources of Vidharba in Japanese, IT and Finance. It includes all the modern facilities like, high bandwidth ISDN leased line, video conferencing facilities, audiovisual facilities, advanced networked hardware and highly competent faculties. All interactive training methods such as role-plays, mock meetings, simulations etc. ensure superlative quality of learning. Nozomi prepares students to not just read and write and converse in Japanese, but gives them such intensive exposure to the Japanese culture, its business etiquettes and way of life, that Japanese becomes their second nature. Nozomi students appear for universally accepted Examinations namely JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) and BJT (Business Japanese Test - Conducted by the Japan External Trade Organization).
For the last three and half years, Nozomi has been training students from Vidarbha in Japanese language and imparting software skills. It has successfully trained 260 students.
C) International Contracts
In Japan Nozomi has executed highly prestigious contracts for “Technology Services and Software Development” with J P Morgan, AXA, Calyon Bank, Deutsche Bank, Oracle Japan, BNP Paribas, NAT IXIS, Intelligroup Japan, Wipro Japan.
It is also currently working on BNPP and NAT IXIS IT projects.
D) Domestic Contracts
In India , Nozomi has penned agreements with Fidelity, Oracle India , KVH, BNPP Mumbai, Intelligroup, Satyam, and Hexaware for technology services and providing skilled resources .
E) Final Placements
Nozomi's biggest achievement has been that all its students have been absorbed by large companies; even the last batch has a 100% placement track-record being placed at Fidelity ( Bangalore ), which is world's 2 nd largest financial investments company.
Nozomi ensures all students are placed with MNC's and major Indian companies.
